BIOGRAPHY
Mambo is the not-so-secret alias of Franco-Hungarian artist Flavien Demarigny. A self-taught artist, Mambo began learning his craft as part of La Force Alphabétique, a group of muralists in France during the late 80s and 90s.
After 11 years with La Force he joined 9e Concept, an artists’ collective whose vision is to bring art to a wider public. Today, he lives and works in Paris.
In France, Mambo is best known for creating the graphics and logo for Groland, a sardonic weekly newsreel show on French TV, akin to “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”.
Mambo describes his work as an illustrated brain, full of visions and emotions. He draws or paints as if he is writing, creating art that you can read. Everyone can build their own story simply by watching it.
