The word “émotif” in French carries the meaning of emotion, while also containing the word “motif”, which means pattern.
This series is an inverted version of the classic Mambo Humans series: instead of flat colors describing volumes, a network of lines is combined to express bodies and faces, with graphic references to biology, geography, and more. The designs evoke wood grain, muscles, maps, tattoos, hair, and tend to reveal inner feelings, emotions, and much more.
The only color chosen for this series is red, taken directly from the ink bottle and applied with a pen, to enhance the sense of blood and biological intensity throughout the process.
